LINK-UP: WHATEVER WEDNESDAYS - FIRSTS

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

The super fun Shay, over at A Girl, A Story, A Blog.presented the idea of joining forces with a fellow New Yorker, Alissa, over at Graceless Ladyand other bloggers to do a link-up known as Whatever Wednesdays.

Needless to say, I agreed to join in on the fun, how could I not with these two fabulous ladies behind the wheel!  Plus, I've been wanting to get more involved with other bloggers and always enjoy getting to write and let you learn more about little me, and learning about you!

Now, I know I usually do Wordless Wednesdays, but at least for now, I believe I will be taking part in both, which means a double post on Wednesday...don't get too excited! ;)

Want to join this link-up yourself and be part of the fun?

Just e-mail whateverwednesdays@yahoo.com to be added to the list, I'd LOVE to learn more about each of you!  Yay!

The topic this week, thanks to Tiffany over at Polka Dotted Cats, is...

F I R S T S

First time acting on a TV/Film set...

Summer of 1998 in Wilmington, NC.

Playing the role of Cylla in the CBS TV-Movie titled "Holy Joe."

Starring: John Ritter, Meredith Baxter, JoAnna Garcia & David Tom

I played the girlfriend of David Tom's character David Cass.

I received the role after Mark Fincannon, the casting director from Fincannon & Asscoiates, picked me out of the crowd to do a cold read from a "Dawson's Creek" script, during a workshop he was holding for all theatre students at UNCG.

Thanks to Mr. Fincannon this role earned me my SAG (Screen Actors Guild) card, which is what every actor works towards. I realize mine was gained far too easily, I still have friends who have been trying to get one for over 10 years, and I was very fortunate.

I moved to Wilmington, NC for the summer to film, and everyone on the set welcomed me with open arms.

The pants they put me in were far too small for me...hehe...but the Emmy Award winning costume designer, Peggy Farrell, showed me a trick, lie flat on your back and zip up tight jeans, it worked!  Ha!

Sat and talked with John Ritter in between takes, and he was so warm to me on set, sharing stories from his family and times with his sons, Tyler and Jason, growing up, he was such a proud dad, so, hearing he had died suddenly in 2003 was quite sad.

The little sister of the young girl in the movie took to me, so, we were buddies, and she drew me lots of pictures to take home.

It was Mr. Ritter who stopped the action on set the moment I wrapped, and was done filming, to say, "thank you," and told everyone to "give me a round of applause for a job well done," which I have never forgotten.

It was my 1st TV/Film experience, and to this day one of my best.

Fun Fact: Ran into David Tom at the "Rock of Ages" auditions in LA, over a decade later, and he came out to my annual holiday party that year.

At my 2009 holiday party in LA with David Tom, over 10 years after filming "Holy Joe" together.

LIFE: ENJOYING EACH MOMENT AND FEELING FORTUNATE TO LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY

Happy Friday, Lovelies!

Wednesday evening, I met up with some friends in the Financial District,  and we ventured towards South Street Seaport.  It was truly one of the most beautiful evenings I've ever had in the city...the temperature was perfection and everyone was outside.  Pure happiness!

It is in times like this when I am reminded of just how fortunate I truly am, and you can't help but fall in love with New York City...what an incredible city!

I have taken each opportunity and moment since moving back to Manhattan and tried to make the most of them. I have done more things, and met more people, in just the past couple months than I think I did my entire time in LA LA Land!

Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy, last year, really did do damage to downtown, and it is sad to see so many places that used to be the highlight of summer still closed so many months later, but at the same time, wonderful seeing so many people out by the water and knowing it is slowly making a come back.  Just as NYC and New Yorkers always do, no matter what gets thrown our way!

After watching the sunset over the Brooklyn Bridge, which was truly magical, we met more people and wandered down towards Water St. and enjoyed more fun at a spot there.  They had a photo booth, and anyone who knows me knows I love photo booths, especially, the unexpected pictures they produce! :)

As I look back on this year, since January, great, unexpected moments have fallen upon me, so to speak, or been placed in my path, and I am loving this whole not having a plan, but seeing where life takes me, and enjoying it along the way, since none of us knows what the future holds!

Plus, I have so much to look forward to, like my little sister having a baby next month...eeek!!!  My birthday in August, which I normally don't look forward to, since getting a bit older, but now, I'm trying to embrace each year and be thankful to have another one to live! Friends are getting married and others engaged, one last night, in fact!

Not to mention the people who have come into my life, oh the happiness they can bring, even if only for the time being. Often your instincts feel things before you do, and who knows in the end, but they are telling me good things.  I feel genuinely good about it, plus, it makes me smile, so, that in and of itself is a lovely thing in my book! :)

I hope you are all living in the moment and enjoying life as fully as possible!  Remember that even in those lower, darker times, happier and brighter things are always ahead!  Have a Wonderful Weekend and I'll be back with lots of quotes tomorrow!  Yay! :)

Happy Saturday, Everyone!

I know it has been a couple weeks since I did a quotes post, due to traveling, so, today I am here with a bunch for you, and hopefully, one or two inspire you! :)

Tonight, I'll be seeing "Cinderella" on Broadway with my beautiful mother for her birthday, which is tomorrow!  The music has always been a favorite of hers and I can't wait!

Have a lovely weekend, and I'll be back next week with the start of many pictures from my Italy adventures, which many of you have been asking me to see!
