LINK-UP: WHATEVER WEDNESDAY - TOP 5 FAVORITE TV SHOWS

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

It is time for another installment of Whatever Wednesdays with Shay and Alissa, this week's topic is TV related, and we need to name our 5 favorite TV shows, some of which I realize a few of my readers were too young to have probably seen! ;)

Truth be told, I am not a big TV watcher, which I realize seems odd to many since I was an actor for years, but with so many channels and shows, and so much going on in life, it is hard to keep up with it.

Actually, since moving to NYC I opted not to get a TV or pay for cable, I watch and can view everything I want online via my laptop, so, there really isn't a need to have a TV, and since doing so, I strangely watch more TV than I did before! :)

1. My So-Called Life

(ABC 1994-1995)

Not only did this show get taken off the air before being given a chance, I was one of the many who wrote ABC trying to save it, but it took place in high school, while I was in high school, and so, the experiences were relevant to me.

Fun Side Trivia: This is also when I wanted to be Claire Danesand temporarily died my hair red, with wash out hair color, like her character Angela on the show.  I was also "in love" with Jordan Catalono, like every other teenage girl at that time.  Today, I am friends with Senta Moses who played Delia Fisher on the show, and yes, she is aware of my love for this show! :)

2. Everwood

(WB 2002-2006)

This may take the cake as my all time favorite show, but it is tough to say for sure.  I just thought the stories were so real, true to life and the acting was fantastic all around!

3. The Bachelor / The Bachelorette

(ABC 2002 - Present)

I've watched faithfully since Season 1, back in 2002 with Alex Michael, and never missed an episode.  Maybe it's my endless hope that everyone who wants to finds love...don't judge! Haha! ;)

4. Girls

(HBO 2012 - Present)

This show keeps things real, like a more relatable "Sex and the City," and is creative, raw and inventive.

5. House of Cards

(Netflix 2013- Present)

Wasn't sure if I would like this, since I've never been that into Kevin Spacey, but it is very well done, inventive and keeps you hanging on at the end of each episode, so, I love that they allow the viewer to watch the whole season in one sitting if they wish by releasing all the episodes at once.

•   •   •   CORRECTION:   •   •   •

So, reading other's posts on this, I realized I completely forgot "Dawson's Creek," and that would definitely win over "House of Cards," but alas I forgot it, and I was once on it!  Whoops!!! :)

LINK-UP: WHATEVER WEDNESDAY - SOMEONE OR SOMETHING YOU TAKE FOR GRANTED

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

A creative topic was chosen for this week's Whatever Wednesday by Kali, and I must say, I had to sit and think about this one, somewhat like I did for this one.

I truly enjoy being a part of these posts each week with Shay and Alissa, and have found my looking forward to them and finding out the topic each week! :)

Growing up I was fortunate to live near NYC, and my family would go in for adventures, dinners, shows and musicals quite often.

We would always drive in, and upon leaving the city to drive back home, my mother, without fail, would always say, "Please take it in and look at that beautiful skyline."

Being the adolescent and teenager I was at the time, I would often just nonchalantly look out at it, kind of with that yeah, yeah, I've seen it before attitude.

I, like so many, just assumed, which was a mistake and one of many great lessons in life, that the iconic Twin Towers would always be a part of the NYC skyline...that I could always see them, whether I looked at that particular moment or not.

I happened to be living in New York City on 9/11, in the midst of it all.

To this day, when I see the old skyline in pictures, movies, etc., I miss it and feel a moment of sadness.

I can't help but think back to those many times when I was encouraged to look at the skyline, and find myself truly wishing I had taken it in more fully...instead of for granted.

This goes hand in hand with not fully exploring cities and places I have lived, and somewhat taking for granted what each has to offer while I'm there because I just figure I can do it later.

It really is important to be a tourist in your own city, especially, when you live somewhere so many dream to one day visit.

I'm so lucky to live in New York City, once again, and before too long, I plan on doing those things I didn't the last time I lived here.

Like going up to the top of the Empire State Building...I pass it all the time, but it has kind of just become another building in the city, as so many do when you live in them.

Ultimately, I have taken historic skylines and structures for granted...something I plan on changing moving forward.

PICTURE SHOW: A MEXICAN RADIO FIESTA AND PLAYGROUND FUN IN NYC

Happy Monday, Lovelies!

On Sunday, I met up with friends I've known since childhood, their husbands and kids in SoHo for an afternoon of fun!  We started out having lunch at Mexican Radio followed by fun at the Desalvio Playground nearby!

I was so fortunate to have met such great friends when I was younger who have remained the greatest of friends over the years, for the past 24 years, and now that we are all in the Tri-state area, it makes it easier to see each other more often!

They truly are some of the most positive, happy, kind, fun and genuine people you will ever meet, and seeing so many of them go on to get married, buy homes and start beautiful families of their own has been wonderful!

Needless to say, we had a fun-filled day on a beautiful afternoon in the city, and here are some pictures from our afternoon adventures! :)
Lunch at Mexican Radio in SoHo...so FUN! :)

Happy, Happy Saturday, Bloglanders!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!  I'm off to meet up with friends from high school, their hubbies and children for a fun Mexican fiesta on Sunday afternoon in SoHo, which should be super fun!

I pulled a few quotes about life, risk, gratitude and positivity for this week, and I hope they offer just a little inspiration! :)

PICTURE SHOW: LAST 2 WEEKS OF FUN ADVENTURES AND FRIENDS VIA INSTAGRAM

Happy Friday, Lovelies!

The past couple weeks have been filled with fun adventures, all captured on my iPhone, per usual, and some posted to Instagram!

One of the highlights for me was getting to spend this past weekend with friends I've known for 24 years simply catching up and having fun girlie time, just like we used to growing up!

No matter how many years go by or the distance that has separated us, though we are now all now back in the same are for the first time in over 10 years, we always pick right up where we last left off, and they will be my best friends for life!

They are always happy, smiling and remain positive with that childlike wonder, which is something that has bonded us since day one!  One is now married, just bought a gorgeous home and has two beautiful children, to whom I am "Aunt" Liesl, love it!  It has been wonderful getting to be there as we each evolve and grow in life from children into true adults.

So, without further ado, here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks, including a visit from a friend of mine in LA and plenty of NYC fun and sunsets!  Enjoy! :)
