PICTURE SHOW: WASHINGTON D.C. CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

Happy April Fool's Day, Everyone...it's best to be extra careful today! ;)

This past weekend, while in VA visiting my older sister, brother-in-law and nephews, I was able to go down to Washington D.C. with my older sister and see the cherry blossoms in bloom near the White House and monuments, which was just beautiful!

I had been wanting to see them for sometime and the Cherry Blossom Festival just happened to start the Friday while I was in town, so, we captured them on a colder, but beautiful afternoon! I highly recommend you go and see them if you ever find your self in the area near the start of spring because it truly is a sight to see!

Plus, I have always found the D.C. monuments to be one of the most beautiful sites, especially at night! They are so simple, yet oh so pretty and something I have loved since I was younger during my many visits to our nation's capital and on our overnight trip there with my class in 8th grade.

Each of these pictures above were captured on my older sister's fancy shmancy Nikon D60, which takes amazing pictures! Then, I ran them through the Carnival Photoshop Action filter created by Michelle Nicole to give them a softer more vintage look, which I felt depicted a truer look and feel to the cherry blossoms.

Honestly, the one thing I want more than anything right now is a better camera because I take so many pictures documenting my life and things and just love photography in general...one day! :)

That said, I think even a newer, little Cannon, like the elf I have now, would work because I have seen the really crisp pictures the newer ones take and it will be easier to carry around. Then, I can graduate to a really nice, more professional one in the future!

Now, for some of the pictures captured on my little Canon PowerShoot SD1100 IS Elf camera, also filtered using the Carnival action on Photoshop, for your viewing pleasure below!

Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this little virtual visit to the cherry blossoms in D.C. via a picture show overload and that you have a Wonderful Weekend ahead!

I'll be back on Monday with a reader's request Look 4 Less and the winner of the Blondie's Shop note card giveaway, which you can still enter below if interested!
