Thanks so much for stopping by! ❤
My name is Liesl Ehardt. I was a professional SAG-AFTRA Actor for over 15 years and am related to Zita Johann, a well known actor in the 1920's - 40's who starred opposite Boris Karloff in The Mummy (1932) and Clark Gable in Machinal (1928) on Broadway. I also wrote the Afterword to Guest Parking, a biography about Zita by Rick Atkins.
After leaving the acting world, I dabbled in hospitality as Guest Services Manager at The Knickerbocker, the 1st luxury hotel in in Times Square. Ultimately, it was not for me, and I chose to leave to follow my heart and life's creative passion, launching Sensible Style on Etsy.
Aside from my day jobs, I continue doing layout design, DIY "Get Crafty" projects and finding affordable ways to sport fashion and create chic home decor for less.
I've been fortunate to travel around the world twice, visit 6 of the 7 continents and 49 of the 50 states in the US, as well as spend wonderful years living in London, England, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Los Angeles, CA and New York City, NY, among others, which has given me a unique sense to style from around the world.
Speaking of, I'm about to embark on a new adventure in another great city and plan to take my readers along with me in my Destination Denver series to document it all. So, stay tuned!
I am often asked "are you having a great day or are you always this happy?" or "did you just win the lottery?" or "you might want to cut back on the caffeine?" Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, I am just usually that happy. Life truly is too short not to be, and why not brighten the world that is already filled with so many hardships.
My family and friends are really important to me, and I am lucky to have had such a wonderful life and upbringing so far. I have a passion for acting, writing, design, fashion, and most things creative, and am slowly taking steps towards finding the right path for myself while exploring my love for design, music, accessories and sensible style on the side.
Through my adventures on TV, from "Dawson's Creek" to "Mad Men," in Film, Commercials and Theatre (View My Acting Resumé), I have been introduced to so many different styles and fashions, from an array of eras, and truly come to believe that it is not how much you spend, but how you put a look together that counts most. My motto is, "Kindness is always fashionable" and free!
I hope that through my journey, I will inspire others, continue to smile and one day become an active part of my own children's charity foundation. Until then, I'm happy to have been asked to be an Ambassador for We Unite For Children in 2016.
Whenever possible, I continue to volunteer and most recently did so with underprivileged and abused children in Harlem, NY with Free Arts NYC. I've also been known to deliver food and drinks to the homeless around the city attached to inspiring notes.
Thank you all for the continued support, and know that I am always sending smiles your way! ☻
