I hope that those of you watching the royal wedding event on television enjoy the historic event and anything you might be doing to celebrate it!

Early in the morning, 4AM to be exact, I'll be enjoying mimosas with smoke salmon and all the accessories that pair with it. Including caviar (for those who like it, not me), finely chopped hard boiled eggs and onions with toast points just as it would be served to the royals, or at any formal event, which only seems fitting! ;)

All followed by tea sandwiches, champagne and fruit tarts! I am looking forward to the luxurious treats, but truth be told, I am most excited to see what Kate and her bridal party are wearing!

However, before I go, here are my fun facts regarding the royals from my time living in London near Kensington Palace as a little girl, as promised!

Royal Fact About Me 1:

When I was very little and we first moved to London, my parents looked at Princess Diana's flat, which she had been living in with 3 other girls while nannying for a friend of our family. All just after she married Price Charles, became Princess and moved into the palace.

Royal Fact About Me 2:

My younger sister was born in the same hospital as Prince William was in London in 1982 and they both shared the same pediatrician, which also makes her a British citizen.

Royal Fact About Me 3:

As many of you probably do know, the guards, known as beefeaters, which stand outside of Kensington Palace wearing the red and gold jackets with big, tall, fuzzy hats, are not supposed to smile while on duty.

However, I'll have you know that I got one to crack when I was a little girl just standing there, staring up at him, smiling and waving...yes, folks, he smiled and winked back, but "Shhh," let's not tell the Queen! ;)

Royal Fact About Me 4:

My family has a bottle of champagne from Princess Diana and Price Charles wedding on July 29, 1981 that was given to us as a gift by some dear friends of the family. We realize is most likely no longer good, but it is chilled to at least pop and try to celebrate Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding today, April 29, 2011.

Royal Fact About Me 5:

Many people don't know this, but since I was very little, I have looked up to Princess Diana and am not sure if started the moment she captured my attention and I saw her genuine, kind nature and smile as a little girl, but she had an affect on me from a young age, for reasons I can't explain. So, on the night I heard she had died I cried, which was not a reaction I expected.

You see, when I was very little, I was sitting in the back of my parents car riding through Kensington, when my parents looked back to see what had grasped my attention so fully, only to see me smiling and waving repeatedly out the window. Who was I waving at? Princess Diana. In her little blue car, which she always drove herself with a guard in the passengers seat, waving and smiling at me through her window just a few inches away stopped alongside us.

So, perhaps from that moment on, she had a piece of my heart and had captured that "in awe" quality within myself.

All this aside, I realize a few of you out there might think this whole royal wedding hoopla is rather crazy, some are tired of hearing about it, etc., but lots do care and will be watching along with billions expected to tune in from around the world, even MSNBC is beginning coverage on the East Coast in the U.S. at 2AM!

Heck, we tried to get scones and clotted cream at Wegmans, a giant, regional grocery store, bakery and cafe in the U.S., and they said they ordered twice as much as they usually do in preparation, but didn't order enough for the number of people who came in wanting it for their royal wedding parties and were completely sold out by 8AM 2 days prior to the big day!

I think that whether some will admit it or not, they are slightly interested, but whether or not you are interested, just remember that it is something that means something to a lot of people and is a big event, so, please respect that, and let those people enjoy it and have fun!

Anywho, those are my little inside tidbits. Do any of you have royal appropriate facts of your own to share? It is always fun learning new things about people to help get to know them better!

Also, when many of you read this post the wedding will most likely be over, but I hope you had fun and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it all!
