TRAVEL DIARY: ASPEN, COLORADO - OUR HOME RENTAL, MAGICAL VIEWS AND SUNSETS

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

The day we arrived in Aspen, Colorado, the clouds rolled in and the rain began.  Yet, it was still such a quaint and charming town! When we got to the large, rustic home, a style perfectly suited for the mountains, that we had rented online, through HomeAway, everything was just as it appeared online.

The home has bedrooms, bathrooms, a double fireplace, a den with pullout couch, which creates an additional bedroom that can close off as its own room, a very spacious family room with great views of Aspen Mountain, an expansive game room, outdoor hot tub, eating nook, large dining area, mud room and more. I took pictures of some of it, but it has so much more over 2 levels set high on a hill.

However, the unobstructed view from the backyard, deck, porch and hot tub were straight out of a movie and far better than I could ever have imagined. You'll see pictures of the views and many incredible sunsets in my multiple posts, from here in Aspen, over the next couple weeks.

Also, the local property management company, Vacasa, which took over once the property was booked on HomeAway, has an incredible team working with them who were there if you needed anything.

We worked closely with Meghan Lutterman, and she truly stepped up to the plate on the couple of occasions when we needed something, and did so very quickly. I would highly recommend the house and renting through her and their management should you ever find yourself in the Aspen area. Just e-mail Meghan, and reference a link to this post, should you wish to inquire about renting this home.

By early evening, and once we were all settled, the rain had cleared and we enjoyed cocktail time from the home, alongside a yummy cheese spread with most of the family that had arrived that day.

Later that evening, there was the most vibrant and magical sunset I have ever seen. If a subset can make your world stop and take your breath away, this one did. I think it was in that moment that I began to fall in love with Aspen. I just hadn't realized how much of an inspiring and positive affect it was going to have on me quite yet.

Many more gorgeous sunsets from the backyard of our rental home in the many Aspen Travel Diary posts to come over the next couple weeks.  So, be sure and check back from them every couple days!

Honestly, I think as my Aspen posts unfold, you, too, may begin to fall in love with it, or at least want to visit if you haven't already.  It really is such a lovely place with some of the friendliest people I've met.
Aspen, we have arrived, and I love the Powder Panda name for easier skiing in the winter.
Through the raindrops driving into Aspen.
Leading to the beautiful backyard of the rental home off the side of the house.
Sittings and eating area on the deck with a view a midst the pretty Aspen trees and complete with a grill.
Large dining area off the living room and kitchen that can easily seat up to 12 adults comfortably, but more if a few are kids.
Kitchen with a view and subzero fridge and freezer and endless storage space for food, dishes and more.
Breakfast nook off the large kitchen.
Loved this high bar table and chairs off the living room and by the bar area.
Spacious and open family room of the rental home.
The guest bathroom and powder room, near the living room, was lovely.
Den and sitting area with a double fireplace into the family room,
which was complete with a pull out bed in the couch.
Master bedroom of the rental home, which attaches to a balcony that overlooks Aspen Mountain and a massive walk-in closet and bathroom with a jacuzzi tub that was bigger than my NYC apartment.
This picture was in my bedroom of the rental home, which was perfect for a lover of wine like myself. ;)
There are no shortage of bathrooms, which gives everyone their own space.
Ready for cocktail time with a view in the lovely family room of our rental home overlooking Aspen mountain.
Beautiful view from our rental home.
Vibrant sunset from the balcony and backyard of our rental home.
The very moment I first started falling in love with Aspen.
Magical sunset on the first night, Aspen really knows how to make a great first impression!
