HEALTHY BRIE, PEAR & SPINACH GRILLED SANDWICH
Before I dive into this tasty post, I want to start with a little affordable fashion heads-up! :)
Right now in Target stores it appears that many Mossimo brand items are on temporarily on sale and it looks as though those online are too! I picked up 2 spring dresses, normally $24.99, which is already affordable, on sale for $17.99 and just thought I'd let all my Fabulous Fashion Followers know!
Now onto the food...hehe...
Many of you enjoyed my fresh and healthy cranberry and feta salad that I created and posted a couple weeks ago and were interested in seeing more! So, here I am with another healthy creation in the form of a grilled sandwich!
Something about me is that I am a brie cheese lover and have more of a salty tooth, than sweet, tooth. Therefore, there could be a bunch of candy and desserts in front of me and I wouldn't touch them, but put a plate of cheese in front of me and get ready to enter a trouble zone! ;)
Anywho, during my Trader Joe's trip for salad goodies, I also checked out their cheese selection, which is not only wonderful, but very well priced and includes lighter cheese varieties as well, which as still oh so yummy! :)
While there I picked up some of their light brie and although nothing is as divine as the real thing, it is still delish and make for a yummy sandwich when melted, which helps bring out its lovely flavor!
What you need:
...remember that you can replace and alter any of the below to suit your taste.
Pear
Light Brie
Spinach
Fat-free Herb & Balsamic Vinaigrette
Whole Wheat Oroweat Sandwich Thin Bun
Putting it together:
Slice up half a pear, cut a few slices of light brie and pull some leaves of spinach.
Then, take an Oroweat whole wheat sandwich thin bun, which have 100 calories per sandwich. Toast the bread in a toaster oven and then spread a thin layer of fat-free herb & balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Next, place the slices of light brie on one half of the bread and place that half back in the toaster over to melt the cheese a bit.
After melted to your desire, layer the slices of pear and spinach, add a little drizzle of herb & balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the top and put its top, aka the other piece of bread, on it and place the entire thing back in the toaster over to warm slightly.
Finally, take it out when ready and enjoy the yummy goodness while staying oh so healthy, yet satisfied! :)
