LIFE: INTRODUCING THE NEW ADORABLE ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY
Happy Monday, Blogland!
A week ago I mentioned that it was an exciting time in our family, and I can now officially introduce you to my 3rd nephew, whom we nicknamed popcorn during my younger sister's pregnancy! He was born at 6:01AM on July 6th and I am just thrilled for them!
There were multiple complications for mommy and baby, but I am so thankful that the are both okay and home now on the mend after an early emergency induction, 30 hours of labor, post-delivery emergency surgery, due to 3 liters of blood loss, and the little one spending time in the NICU.
They are both truly fighters and I am so proud of my sister's strength, popcorn's fighting super powers and my brother-in-law's unwavering support! His patience, love, helping hand and positivity through it all were something else!
Both my sisters have been so fortunate to find such incredible, patient, even-tempered, positive, happy and helpful men, husbands and fathers in their lives, like our father. This is not an easy task when you have had such an extraordinary father figure in your life since birth, and can only hope to find something similar for yourself and your children.
Needless to say, I am thrilled to take on the role of "Aunt Liesl" again, a favorite role of mine, and happily welcome my 3rd nephew with open arms! This Christmas we will all be together as a family, and I simply can't wait!!! :)
His first name is after my mother's mom's middle name, Olive, and his middle name is after my dad, dad's dad and dad's dad's dad (my great grandfather, and yes, that's lots of dads...hehe) who were all named John...such a sweet and loving tribute!
Less than a week after my little sister gave birth...what a beautiful family they make! ❤
